After four careers – in accountancy, FMCG, oil and printing – Graham Thompson found his metier as a personal coach and facilitator with TEC International and, after retiring as chief executive in 2000, set up The Next Chapter (TNC) in 2001. Graham believes passionately that we are all here for a distinct purpose and exploring what that might be is a central focus of TNC. Married to Charlotte, a counsellor, between them they have four children. A passion for most sports and the chairmanship of a leading independent boys’ school occupy most of the rest of his time.

Doug Horman trained as a graphic designer in Australia. He moved his design business to the UK and quickly established a reputation as a leading designer of corporate communications. In 1996 he was introduced to Graham Thompson and joined TEC International as a group chair. They jointly established The Next Chapter in 2001. Doug now earns his living as an artist having emigrated to New Zealand in a classic yacht, Laura Bruce, whose restoration he completed in 2003.

A graduate engineer and qualified accountant Pat started his own engineering company in the 1970s and sold it 25years later to a Plc. He is a non-executive director of a medical engineering company and chairs the second TNC group. Married to Jan, a retired teacher, they have two grown up sons. When not travelling Pat is a sailor and golfer.

After 22 years in the Royal Navy Norman founded Crew Services, an IT services company. After the sale of this business in 1999 Norman aquired a number of businesses most of which have since been disposed of. He now acts as an adviser or non-executive to businesses in retail, public relations, media and HR. His passion is for helping people and businesses grow. Married to Sue with two grown up daughters he lives in Hampshire and enjoys travelling.
